Can I try qif2qfx Convert before I buy it?

Is there any size limit on the files converted using qif2qfx Convert?

No, there is no limit. The converters are routinely tested with data files that are 100MB in size, and have upwards of 50,000 transactions. Those conversions take less than 30 seconds to process.

Should I be converting to QIF files or QFX files using the convert software?

This depends on which version of Quicken you are using. If your version allows the import of both QFX and QIF files, you should consider that QFX is generally easier to work with, but does not support categories or splits. If categories or splits are needed, the best option is using QIF; otherwise go with QFX.

Quicken has used three different file types over the various versions released: QIF, QXF, and QFX. Quicken Interchange Format (QIF) is an older version that some versions of Quicken still utilize. Quicken Personal and Quicken Personal Plus can only import QIF files, but Intuit stopped allowing the import of QIF files for regular versions of Quicken in 2006. Quicken Transfer Format (QXF) is not as widely used as QIF or QFX, so we have software to convert QXF to QIF.
